New to me S14 - Where does this go?

So I picked up this S14 not too long ago. Today as I was leaving work, this piece fell and hit my shin. What is it?

From my understanding, this S14 used to be an automatic and was converted to a manual. This box has a Nissan logo on it and appears to have been previously zip tied to the steering column. Does anyone know where it is actually supposed to mount? Let me know if you need more pictures.

Thats the automatic control or ecu thing. you can unplugg that and the car will run. I removed mine so i have space under my dash.
