We have retired the old Sienna and are now in a QX60. We do need to get an extra smart key fob for the vehicle and would like to avoid the dealer and their prices. Any thoughts and ideas? Thanks

You can buy the fob and blank key pretty much anywhere online, but unless you have a Nissan CONSULT device (I believe that's needed) you WILL need to go to the dealer to re-program or a shop that has such a tool. But buying the parts some place else may save you a few $$$.

Thanks for the reply. We found a locksmith nearby that claims he can do it. The fob has been ordered so we will give him a try. If it doesn't work we will be headed over to the nearby Infinity dealer.

The locksmith was able to program a new fob for us. The dealer was going to charge us $375 for the fob and programming so we ended up saving about $150. Some of the locksmiths said they couldn't do it because of some rolling code issue and not having the requisite equipment on hand to do the job.

Yeah, it's all about the equipment. If you have that, it's just like any other car. Glad to hear you got it resolved.
