New to M45-thanks to forum for help deciding purchase

Leasing a 2007 M45 Sport, picking up this Friday. Thanks to all for quick responses on some issues I had with the model (audio system, etc.). Was about to wait for 2008 but couldn't pass lease deal.

Bit dissapointed Advanced Tech package wasn't out there as an option on late 2007's as would have liked to play DVD-audio collection but small price to pay.

Again, thanks to board for all the info and will likely have more questions soon on what snow tire options have been chosen.

BTW--previous ride was a 2004 Audi A6 2.7t s-line. Quite a fine car actually but didn't want to pursue purchase when lease was up. Before that 1999 BMW 740i Sport. Found the M45 Sport comparable to both in test drives, actually with a bit of a net increase in acceleration over the two! Like the coarchwork, nice lighting etc., interface better IMO over BMW and Audi. Don't know if I would have liked the new violet as well--preferred current "orange" emphasis over G37s I drove. Also, for those interested in new 9.3gig hard drive system be aware that can't rip to hard drive from SD slot and only records original music source CD's (no previously recorded MP3's or WMA discs) plus will only record full album and you must delete single songs after recording album! Plus it only records at modest MP3 bit rate so don't get best fidelity. Perhaps software upgrade coming for Gracenote system but that was a dissapointment.

In fairness, hope I can find a viable solution to IPOD interface. If not, I'll have to continue with pre-recorded CD option.

Welcome my fellow audiophile. While DVD-A has been available on a number of OEM systems, amazingly, the Mark Levinson system in the LS460/600H will even play SACD's. (Super Audio CD). I was actually bummed when both next gen audio formats faltered. On a aside, the Playstation 3 plays SACD's and outputs via HDMI to a compatible Processor/Receiver. I digress.Congragulations on your new ride. What color combo did you go with?M.L

Color combo was bit complicated:

My choice was black/bourbon-rosewood and not available in Sport.

Car likely to go to my wife in 3 years so let her push color decision. Ended up with Umbria Grey (sp) and graphite-alum. Choice set for Sport models was silver, black, umbria grey, all with graphite-alum interiors.

The umbria is, apparently, not that popular (according to salesmen).
