Hello all.

My name is Tyler and I am the new owner of a 2007 Altima 3.5SE, 6MT, black cloth on KH3. I am in the process of having Carmax ship it from Albuquerque (sp?) and it will be here tomorrow afternoon.

I hail from Maxima.org, and will still keep my QN0 1997 Maxima (A32) 5MT. I have a long history of modding my cars, from independent fog rewire to MEVI (dual runner intake upgrade), but nothing too intensive. My brother used to drive a 2002 Maxima (A33) and I was always very jealous of his VQ35. I am excited about the opportunities the L32 has to offer. As far as "personalization" goes, I'm looking for some advice on where to start. Here's what I have learned so far, and keep in mind I haven't even seen the car yet:

1. Short ram intake
2. Racingline Y-Pipe, does the same thing most ys do, except the L32 variant also removes an unmetered Cat.
3. Catback exhaust, again nothing new, save for removing the flattened section of pipe just past the cat (IIRC).
4. Grounding kit, FROM MY UNDERSTANDING is only beneficial for those with systems, which I will not have.

Short ram intake: I have found the following intakes on the 'Bay:
HPS, w/K&N dry flow filter and heatshield, P/N HPS-27-148P ~$180
Fujita, w/Fujita filter, P/N SR-2828 ~$185
Takeda, w/PRO Dry S dry flow filter and "pseudo" heatshield, P/N TR-3010P ~$225
Injen, w/Injen filter and heatshield, P/N SP1977BLK ~$240

Never heard of HPS but it looks well made, and with the heatshield makes me want it more than the Fujita. I have read about other owners raving over the Fujita and Injen, but I don't know if the Injen price is worth it. Any suggestions?

Y-Pipe: Anyone know of a cheaper y? On my A32, I bought a brand new Warpspeed Y for $199 and it was worth every damn penny. $290 doesn't really seem worth it.

Catback: For my A32, I had the local shop fab up a 2.5" catback with a Thrush Glasspack (~$25) and a Magnaflow muffler (~$60) and it sounds absolutely, positively, 100% f-ckawesome. It cost me less than ~$200 with labor, piping, and a tip. On the L32, I think I wanna try the same setup. But just because it sounds good on a 3.0 v6 with single exhaust, doesn't mean it would sound as great on a 3.5 with dual. Anyone heard of it on the Alt?

Grounding kit: Does the grounding kit (Racingline to be specific) help those of us with stock systems and/or are not intending to do any kind of insane electronic upgrades? I may, however, be upgrading to HID's, if not so equipped. I'm not expecting any large HP gains, I'm just curious if there is any improvement that justifies the cost. Honestly, I would probably make my own anyway, just curious if it's worth it?

Also, why am I not finding anything about the VIAS delete mod on the L32? Is it not one of the (if not THE) best bang-for-buck mod there is for the VQ35? At $27 for ~10bhp, shouldn't it be all the rave on a forum like this? Here's the link, BTW: http://www.nwpengineering.com/Phenolic_ ... html#VIASB

Sorry for the ridiculously long post. If you got this far, I found a great forum to be a part of, and I greatly appreciate it!
