t28 can flow a little more air than a t25, but I wouldn't run one past 15 psi. If I were you I would go with the 550's and a top mount t3 setup. More things to fab, but the JGS kit is a great start. You seem to have your head in the right place, that's a good thing haha.

Wow, that IS a healthy engine man!

Having the z32 maf and the Rom tune, If you can afford it, definitely go for the 550cc injectors and the T3/T4 setup. You'll be glad you did when you dyno your car.

(I just took mine to a dyno, but have to pick up the dyno graph today or tomorrow so I can post it. I don't want to post the hp and tq yet because they seemed a little "high". Just want to make sure there isn't any mistake. But they are good numbers.)

Like Chris said, it's a little more involved in the installation (couple of trips to the muffle shop maybe to fit the exhaust to the downpipe and to re-route the external wastegate if you choose to do so), but definitely worth the horsepower numbers you'll get, and if your budget allows it.

I would say one of the things to pay most attention to when going top mount is brake master cylinder clearance and manifold cracking. With the JGS kit you don't have to worry about any of the two.

If you do it like cheap people like me, make sure you have the muffler shop put a flex pipe on the j-pipe that comes right after the downpipe, and before installing the manifold, have them reinforce the flange where the turbo sits by welding two metal pieces from the turbo flange to the flanges that attach to the head.

A T2 flange is definitely the issue with the KA, not the difference between a T25 or T28. A T3 is going to be better, especially if your going to go with bigger injectors, Z32 MAF and a ROM tune.

There are members here that have made great cars with a T2 turbo, but even they mostly end up agreeing that a T3 flange would make them happier. The JGS Starter kit is also one of the best kits available, IMO.

A T3 at lower boost pressure will move the same amount of air. It's probably better for the older motors that way...

That sucks man, sorry to hear. Grab a shell and swap everything over. Your engine is in great condition, and if that's the case I'm sure the rest of your car was too. Swap everything over then start saving again for boost.
