Hello all!

I am new to infiniti, and just picked up my 07 M35x a couple of weeks ago. I am a roll over from the Z community, so pretty familiar with the VQ, hopefully could lend a hand or two on the forums when it comes to performance upgrades.

But lets talk VIP, new to that whole scene. Working quickly on at least getting started on the VIP standard, as well as stance and offset!

I was extremely disappointed in the lack of options the poor Fuga community has when it comes to suspension, as well as other parts. I had my car for maybe 2 hours before it was slammed to the ground on old Z cut springs, tinted, and fabricated an exhaust... upgraded the rears to KW coilovers, looks much better, great camber, and damper, fronts still need work...

SO me an my buddy's shop (JDM Dreams Shop, Mooresville, NC) are working on retrofitting z coilovers to fit on the Y50. We have it down pretty much, just need to install. THIS WILL OPEN UP A WHOLE NEW MARKET FOR YOU GUYS. So many options when it comes to Z suspension. We can all work together and avoid the high price of bags, and the comfort of full coilovers.

As of tomorrow my M will be on KW V2 coilovers, a great ride, super stiff on corners, fantastic rebound, they fkn rock...

Anyways, nice to meet you all. Lets get some stuff done...

My new baby: (mind those are Z coilovers in the back)

Stillen HFC's bolt right up, everything from the y pipe forward is almost directly the same as the VQ35DE. I have test pipes on mine now, but we hooked up the hfc's and the bolted direct, sounded good...

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll love your M. When it comes down to the lack of options keep in mind your M was meant to be a luxury sedan. It will never have available what your Z car has available in options. I'm guessing the M is your daily driver, what type of vehical did your M replace? Or did you modify your Z so much that it's now more of a track car then a road car?

My Z was a track car, was built for time attack...

I def know the role of the M, not criticizing it at all, but the bug got me a long time ago, and have to keep on modding...

Not my dd, have other vehicles...

There are plenty of options for co's but since you have an M35 X that reduced it to like 2 companies along with comparison to the Z's/G's. As for HFC and test pipes you guys can have any GOOD muffler shop experienced with custom fabrication, weld them in to fit your car. Also OP if you search the Japanese companies they have alot more for the Fuga than the good ol US of A especially if you want to go VIP. A better forum for that type of info would be vipstylecars and a quick search of smitty's M45 will give you some ideas. If you're headed towards that platform you might want to look into air suspension. CGinev can hook you up with either UAS or D2 airsuspension. Welcome to the forum and from now on you gota start how to threads with pictures when you create new shyt! lol

thanks for the info bro... yeah its the x that limited the hell out of options... and not interested in air bagging at this time, needed to get wheels and performance out of the way b4 dropping the 3k or so on suspensions... had these coilovers laying around so figured give it a shot.... DIY threads will come along for sure..

are you using 07 350z parts on your m35x? I still have my bro 03 350z parts (aem intake and straight pipe) but I already tried the a em intake and it doesn't fit. Well the maf holder piece is all different which is the problem part.

I am using 06 Z parts (VQ35DE) on my 07.

Yeah the only thing different on these setups is the intake nonsense, really useless huge box, useless heat soaked ram duct... bleh...

I rigged a MAF adapter with a PVC reduction pipe, used a dremel to cut holes and a recessed fitting for the maf. Was worried about leakage so used some 3m adhesive to seal it good, but looked like the regular rubber gasket would do the trick. Using the set up with a nismo cold air intake, just takes some patience and removal of those god awful engine covers...

working now on building a ram box to hook up to a fujita that will siphon cool air from the ducts next to the fogs...

Just ordered a fujita z tube that has a maf plug in the intake tube itself, so going to switch to something less 'ghetto engineered.'
