Hello, I am new to the forum. I find this forum very informative for a new owner of a 2006 G35 6MT. I hope that I am also able to contribute.

I am curious if there is a consensus on adding a navigation system to the 2006 G35. After reading other threads, it seems that adding a factory installed system is not a good option. It is expensive and there are some issues with it as well.

That said, are there any recommendations for my vehicle?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to being part of this forum.

Best bet is getting a multi purpose DVD/MP3/GPS System for your dash... There are a few dash kits available, That would eliminate the ugly wiring kits and window adapters and ugliness altogether... I looked into SAT radio in canada with disapointing results... I think I will be going this route as well...

Checkout crutchfield.com & read up on them.Dealer Navigation Systems are overpriced.Visit a few auto audio installation stores that work on high end auto's such as BMW's,Mercedes, Infiniti's, Acura's etc and ask for recommendations.I visited one a month or so ago & they showed me an Alpine double DIN that included Navigation, Bluetooth, (which I already have) but included Caller ID which I don't have, I Pod connection, and connection for my existing Sirius Radio. Built in dash Installed price $1400.00 The unit will also pop out of the dash to use in rental vehicles when traveling. I'm still thinking about it.

Let us know what you decide

I'll check with a buddy that has some connections with a fully installed system. $1400 may be more than I want to spend, since it will not add value to the vehicle.

Thanks.
