Hows it going everyone, i drive a 1997 black 240sx. this is my first post so bare with me as i still have a lot to learn.

to begin, i bought a set of Megan Racing Street Series coilovers for my s14, being the fool i am i forgot to also order upper rear camber control arms because at the time i didnt notice that only the front came with the camber plate, if i were to install these on my car with my stock tires and rims (front tire 205 50 r16, rear 205 60 r16) only for the time being until i order my rims and new tires ( not sure how to phrase this) would the camber be too much that it would effect my daily driving?

also, i am planning on ordering some 17'' XXR 527's but im not sure if i should go 9.75 all around or go 8.25 in the front and 9.75 in the back, i read that if i do go 9.75 in the front ill need 25mm spacers, ive looked everywhere on information about this but cant ever get a clear answer.

depending on the information i get here it would greatly help my decision on what tire sizes to get also for my new wheels.

thanks in advance, im sorry if things werent worded the best way, doing my best.

The answer to yur first question, No. If you are only using the coils to lower yur car a bit then it wont effect yur driving too much, just get it aligned properly. You may notice it, but it should be fine for daily driving.

the answer to yur second question, I would go with a staggered set-up (8.75 front, 9.75 rear) instead of going 9.75 all around. This way you can avoid fitment and rubbing issues. You dont need that wide of a wheel in the front anyway. And as far as using a spacer to fit the 9.75's in the front, it will ultimately depend on the offset of the wheel and the size of yur coils in the front. Use this website : http://www.rimtuck.com to help find offset and sizes that will fit properly.

hope that helps. :bigthumb:

thanks so much, lets say i do go with the 8.25 in the front and 9.75 in the rear, what tire sizes would you recommend? 215 40 r17 in the front and 225 40 r17 in the rear? i want a nice stance. i want it to be functional.

"stance" and "functionality" aren't exactly synonymous. If you want to waste yur time with "stance" then you might as well do 9.75 all the way around like you wanted. but if you want functionality, use 8.25 in front and 9.75 in the rear. then the proper tire sizes would be AT LEAST 215-225 in the front and AT LEAST 245 or 255 in the rear. I'd also go with a higher tire profile, like 45 or even 50. I have 18x10 in the rear of my car and I run 265 45. VERY beefy tires. More grip and better for all weather. It depends on what you're looking to do with them. But i'm assuming yur DD'ing yur car since you asked before about the coils so make sure you get PROPER tire sizes.

Have any pics of this mysterious kouki?..Anyway welcome to the forums and like the others say if your DD it then definitely go for functionality. By the way, how bad did the Megan Coils hit your pockets? Let me know how it rides. I'm looking to upgrade to coilovers in the future as well, so I'm extracting good feedback on brands/prices :- )..

if it were me, I'd go 9.75 all around, only because I'd never go smaller than 9" width lol. You should be fine with a square setup (meaning a non-stagger). Plus, its not like the 9.75 face will have more of a concave face than the 8.75's.

As far as camber goes, it all depends on how low you go. Obviously, the lower the rears are, the more camber-in will go. BUT, your concern should be with TOE not CAMBER. After you go so low in the rears, stock toe arms become useless and you won't be able to get a straight alignment without aftermarket adjustable rear toe arms. Remember, TOE kills tires, not camber. Camber will make tires wear unevenly, but toe being off will wear the tires down even faster. I'm merely speaking for those that really low, if you're at a conservative height, you should be fine.

For the front fitment, it all depends on what offset of wheels you're getting. Keep in mind, the lower the offset is up front, the further away the wheel is from your suspension.

Use Rimtuck.com to determine exactly what you think looks better on an S14: 17's vs 18's. Personally, I feel that S14's wheel arches make 17's look too small. Unless you are super duper dumped with massive fender work, 17's are gonna look undersized.

If you've not willing to put in this kinda work, I'd say go with 18's:

Plus, anything narrower than 9 inches wide on an S-chassis is a waste, IMO. Here is my recommendation in your other thread:
