Hi, I am looking at 2002 Q45. 52k miles. For sale by original owner, looks to be in great shape. 18" wheels, loaded except no back-up camera. I am not as familiar with these as Lexus. I have owned 2 of those. What do I need to know? Maintenance issues, other problems? Also, what is a realistic price? Thanks.

Some early F50 (2002+) Q45s had issues with oil consumption (as did other cars that used the same motor). I imagine that probably would have been addressed already on an '02 if it were affected, but it is something to look out for.

Reasonable price...I'd say low $20,000s.

Try to see if you are in the market to buy one is if it has an extended warranty. Also keep in mind that bumper to bumper it is 5/50k. and Emision/ECU warranty is 8/80k. I have had some issues with mine that were fixed by the dealer. Give them some grease and they will take care of you. There is a thread here for issues on F50's.

For a 2002, non Premium, I would say, rather, that a reasonable price is $20K max. That's if all service is documented and you need to have it. In reality, the price should be closer to $18K. The realities of the market. I shopped this car for a couple months.

Check out the F50 owners thread, it's linked in the Q45 owners sticky. And certainly get the VIN and pull the service records from your local Infiniti dealership or the dealership at which it was serviced.

Read the sticky above. Verify OCI with the Infiniti Dealer performed service history. Verify the throttle and TCU ECU programming was performed. The latter is not an issue on 2003 and later.
