Post

Hi guys and gals of this fine forum. My name is Tom and I just bought my first Nissan last night. It is a 93 240SX Convertible and it's pretty much stock. I live in Southern California and I am looking forward to making new friends on here and learning a lot of stuff about my car! I'm pretty handy with a wrench so I don't mind helping anyone out if they need a hand with something. If someone could help me, I am looking for a new trunk latch and a coolant reservoir for it. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I plan on customizing the car a bit in the near future, I just need to save up some $$$. I also own a vinyl cutter, so if anyone needs any custom stickers or graphics made just let me know.

Welcome Home Tom!

Glad to have you aboard. You're going to love that 'vert. You must post pictures asap!

Check out the NICO classifieds "part out" section for the trunk latch and coolant reservoir.. you should be able to find them easily enough there.

What are you plans and ideas for modding the 'vert?

Anyhow.. let us know what we can do to help, and don't be shy around here.

Check out the sticky threads as they have a lot of helpful info.. and be sure to enter your info in the registry thread.

Eikon, thanks for the warm welcome! As far as after market ideas are concerned, I plan on doing an S-15 front conversion with some carbon fiber parts along with some side skirts and a rear bumper to finish off the aerodynamics. Also I plan on doing a full stereo system with an in dash tv, 18" wheels and tires, lowered suspension, limo tint, k&n intake, custom exhaust, and some after market taillights. I have the stereo, front end conversion, and body kit part taken care of already but if anyone has any ideas for me for the other parts on my wish list please feel free to post. Thanks again.

Thanks Adrians S13 and Dexter for your kindness. I promise you will have plenty of pics to look at soon. I just have the car apart at a family friend's shop so that I can learn about my new vert and check everything out since this is going to be my daily driver. I will definitely be checking out the Irvine and Rowland Heights meets the week after I am done fixing all of the little things on the car. I just don't like meeting with fellow enthusiasts with a car that is not up to my par. If you read my reply to Eikon's post above, I plan on keeping the car for a while and being very active in the 240 vert community. Thanks again and I hope to meet some of you guys soon. BTW, my work is having an open house this saturday in fullerton so come check it out if you'd like, free food, live DJ, and some really nice cars to look at!!!

Thanks Slip. Yeah working for ED is pretty cool. Everyone there is awesome and I like how we make an S15 front end conversion for our verts too !!! Just let me know what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do. Our promo for September is if you buy a full body kit (front & rear bumpers and a pair of side skirts) or more (like a widebody kit) you get 10% off right now even if the kit is carbon fiber or urethane!

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have a great plan for the pimping of your ride. What about performance mods, though? Anything? You should start with basic maintenance. As far as the new coolant tank, I suggest you forget the stock plastic one and come to the dark side with one of these http://phase2motorsports.store....html The plastic one is $80 new and it's just going to crack again eventually.

fayceoff, thanks for the info. i actually found that exact coolant reservoir already and I have it on order with a local store. As far as engine mods go, nothing too much just an intake, exhaust, header, maybe a chip, and maybe some other little things but nothing too major. I have had some fast cars in the past that have gotten all of my local sheriffs to know be by name and they are all already aware of my vert and I have had it in the shop since the day after I bought it, lol!
