New to building 240s , just a couple general questions....

Ok well right now im purchasing a 92 coupe.. it has the KA motor in it and it is very very healthy . What i wanna do is probley throw a basic t3/t4 turbo on it to play around on the street. Im very familiar with turbo cars , Had 10 second dsms and an 11 second civic. This will be my first 240. Im gonna try to keep the boost low and pretty much just use this car as a weekend and maybe cruise to a few car meets. I know these motors are not factory turbo motors and probably dont like high boost. And believe me im in no rush to run 11s with this car. Like i said i just wanna play around alittle with it. Im gonna be purchasing another motor and slowly building that while i play. My few basic questions are ...

1. If i were to put aftermarket Intake , Fuel rail , Adjustable fuel pressure regulator , turbo exhaust manifold , and injectors on the KA motor , Would any of these Transfer over to say an sr20 if i decided to build one of them ?

2. I have no idea anyone who tunes these ecus or even chips them.. What does everyone do besides a standalone to tune these cars? Pretty much just looking to go with a basic tuner maybe something like a SAFC? Not sure if they use them on these cars. I already have a wideband im gonna put in the car so that is step 1.

3. Would the KA transmission bolt to an sr20 block just incase in the long run .... Im probley gonna put alittle money into the trans if it will work on a swap , i just wanna make sure it will before i put money into it and then decide to build a sr20 and it wont work...

4. Does anyone weld the diffs in the rear or do they buy the LSD for it ?

I think that might be in and should help me get started here. I very much so appreciate everyones help. I will deffinatly keep you guys updated with my build once i get it going. I really love modifying cars and learning about as many different cars that i can. Ive always been a fan of nissans and im very excited and really looking forward to building one. Thanks again!

1. I would think the fpr, intake, and injectors would transfer over. Definately not the manifold and I'm not sure about the fuel rail.

2. If you're gonna run under 8lbs of boost you can use an FMU if you don't have a massive budget and want to keep it mild. Any more requires either a rom tune or standalone. An SAFC is gonna help but not really too necessary, it really depends. You can find all the info you need here:

3. The KA transmission will work with the SR, you just need to swap bellhousings.

4. You can take your diff somewhere to get it welded or buy from someone that's already done it. There are many options for lsd's. VLSDs from a j30, 300zx, q45, etc.. will work, some with modification. There are also other choices like a 2way, helical, etc... Your choice usually depends on your budget.

1. everything except the intake and exhaust manifolds will changeover.2.Jim wolf, enthalpy. check out frsport.com or enjukuracing.com. Since your just turboing your ka you could just run an afc. Another good website for turbo kas is Ka-t.org.3.Yes the trannys will interchange you just have to us the sr bellhousing with the sr and the ka with the ka motor.4. You can use stock vlsds from certain cars or you can buy lsds or weld its all about preference and what you want to do with it. Im welding mine cuz im cheap! 5. Welcome to nissan world, a turbod rear wheel drive is a lot more fun than a turbod fwd. We turboed my friends ka for about 1000 dollars, use stock sr stuff, turbo, and injectors. Just my .02 cents

Arent piggyback porgrams NOT good...

My diff is welded but i dont want it like that. I wonder how different it is when takin turns (not drifting), besides hearing a squealing.
