New to 240sx

Well im new to the 240sx scene i have 89 5speed and im wondering about weird metal to metal vibration sound when i start it up for the first time of the day. it only happens for 1 to 3 seconds....has anyone else ran into this if so some help would be awesome thanks guys!

Well without actually hearing it I couldn't be positive, but it sounds like your starter could be dragging. Oh and welcome to nico

Thanks for the welcome.....sorry about the bad descripton it sounds if it coming for the heat shield area but i could be wrong?

I have to agree that it almost sounds like a dragging starter. Have you ever had any problems with it not wanting to turn over right away?

its starts like a dream....it only happens the first time i start it and it doesn happen after that till the next morning.

Is it when you are starting it or after you're starting it?

If it's just after starting it might just be that oil has to get up and lube the lifters because it has settled at the bottom and they're a little dry.

If it's when you're starting it the problem is likely the one stated above^.

It happens right after it starts..is this damaging at all to the top end and if this is true does this mean that my oil filter has failed. Or do have any suggestions on what to do?
