Hi, my dad's friend had a 240sx for sale and i bought it because i needed a car at the time.. then i later realized that alot people started saying "woah, you have a 240sx? thats sweet"

so then i took more interest in them and realized what they can be when fixed up.

so... which brings me to my problem.. i don't know anything about cars. i have a steady job which brings me in about 800-1k biweekly and i have no bills to pay.. just rent [$250/month] so i have plenty of money to spend on my car. problem is.. i don't know where to start. i wanna do an engine swap, rack up as much power as i can, get a beasty tone, and exterior looks.

the year for my 240sx is 1989

ANY help is GREATLY appreciated. thank you for your time!

You're building the car, not us. Want to do an engine swap? There's an sr20/rb/etc subforum on here. Don't know where to start? Just read the threads & stickies on these forums...

YOU need to figure out what it is you want to do w/ the car. You're the one driving it, not us.

Welcome to the boards, enjoy your stay.

congrats on your buy. i wish i still lived at home, then i could actually start messing with my car. first thing you should do is get a tune up. then do suspension. as soon as those are done then you should poke around on the forums and get ideas of what you want to do to your car, everyone here is helpful...well most people. do you have any pics of your ride?

First lesson I learned about "fixing up" cars: outside of maintenance/ upkeep, NEVER start under the hood. This is the part that sucks, but will make your life better, get a sheet of paper and make a wish list. Then on another sheet of paper make a more realistic list. Decide early on what you plan for the car, how it will be used etc etc. This will help you spend money on what you need, instead of waste money on things you dont. Power is completely worthless if it cant get to the tires. The wrong tires and footwork will make all that power just as worthless. I could go on, but damn it I sound like I'm preaching. You either get where I'm going or you dont. Good luck on your endeavor.
