f***! I take the car in for two new tires......shortly after leaving the tire place (I get all my wheels/tires from this place) my TCS starts coming off and on when driving 40 mph or less. Then, later on in the day the TCS starts blinking on and off consistently and the car starts losing power. I get it parked, call my Nissan svc guy and he tells me to turn the TCS off and bring the car in in the morning after I get off work. THEN......this morning I head to work, with the TCS off, driving along.....2/3 through my trip my BRAKE light and ABS come on and stay on! WTF did these morons do to my car?? So now I'm 20 miles away from my NIssan dealership and thinking I should have the car towed in rather than driving it back.........I'm SO pissed and I did call the tire place yesterday and give them a heads-up that they f*** they car up. Told them I was taking it in and would let them know the results......thoughts?

Almost sounds like your guys broke an ABS sensor. If the ABS/brake lights are on but the car doesn't appear to be behaving any differently, you're probably safe to take it to them.

Well, check this out! I was running Cooper Zeon A/S tires....the tire place didn't have anymore Cooper tires in any of their stores so they threw on a couple of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s..........Well guess what? The car called s***! The Cooper Zeons were on the back and the Firestone Firehawks on the front....the car could tell there were two different tires on the car and that's what made the TCS, the ABS & the brake lights all start goin whack! The dealership picked up on it first, after the car was towed there and ran a $100 diagnostic check. Then we got the car back to the tire place and the manager was blown away by the fact that the car could sense the difference. He paid the $100 bill from Nissan, and gave me a substantial discount on another set of the Firehawks, which were a bit more than the Coopers.
Four new tires later, I'm back in da game!

cars dont sense the difference in tire brands. maybe something might be thrown off by the size, but not the brand.

the dealer probably told you a bs story so you can pay the $100 fee, its what they do.

I agree with this. Either the tire sizes were different causing mismatch in tire revolutions or the old tires were so worn that difference in traction between the new ones was somehow throwing off the TCS.

It was a size difference, in addition to different brand, sorry I wasn't clearer......the dealership first caught it, after they had performed a diagnostic check to determine why the ABS, brake and TCS lights were on.......and the tire placed paid for the check that Nissan did, so I wasn't out any money for that.....
