Ok, guys. It's time for some new tires and I need some direction. Right now I'm running a set of 215/40/R17's. They look like this:I want to go with a larger sidewall as I have a lot of empty space and think a larger tire would look better as well as ride better and last longer. I've searched here (NICO) and here (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) and I'm unsure how high to go. I don't know if I should go with 45's 50's or 55's. Some advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

dont put anything bigger than a 45 on a 17. id say stick with a 40 and just drop it to get rid of the gap.

I think I'm going to go with some Falken ZE-512's. They're 215/45/r17. Cheap, too!

Just go to a 225/40/17 Tire is wider and side wall will be taller, kills 2 birds with one stone.Go with a decient brand of tire and a v or z ratingI have had good luck with Nitto NT450 ZR's for long life, a great hold, and they are quiet if you do break them loose.Kumho tires are good too. The Escta 7-11 dosent last as long but is cheapSome of the Yokohamas are also good and cheap

No man, 225/40's will not be a good idea.

Im guessing those wheels are 17x7 +40 ish. If you go to a 225 width, they wont clear coilovers up front. Trust me, stick with the 215 width.

Sorry about the wrong forum thing. I appreciate all of the info and opinions, guys, and I think I've made my decision on the tires. Yay for NICO!

I dont mean to be a d!ck, but dont keep giving information that you have -no- clue about. Seriously, I already corrected you once. Why would you say the exact same thing again?

If the OP went out and got your suggested tire size, he would be stuck with wheels and tires that dont fit.. Dont give suggestions if you dont know what youre talking about.
