High performance tires will generally develop more noise as they wear. Just one of the drawbacks of more performance. Though, it's generally heard more at higher speeds. Not sure what might be the cause in your case.

As far as the other things, and perhaps even the tires, you might want to describe the noises and when they occur more.

Sam,I've got the same car and it got bad at about 16K. Our selection is pretty limited and costly after the OEM's. I've found Toyo T1R's online. They are less than 200 a pop. tiredeals4less.com. It's the only "inexpensive" tire w/ matching front/rears. I'd use Tire Rack because of their service but they don't have them. Get it aligned and change all 4 tires. You should see a difference. Look on tirerack.com and you can find an installer. The guy I'm using is great and the pricks at the dealer will never see my car unless it's for warranty work.Chris

Go on tire rack and look up the oem bridgestones and read what others say about the tire. Most of them hate that our oem's pick up road noise really bad around 10-15k! It could be a bunch of things from the stock alignment makes the tires wear irregular or there could be a defect in the tires itself. I do know that the tires perform really well (by ratings) but they do wear out quickly. There isn't a whole lot of different brands in the size 19". Yes they are pricey as well.

I'm reviving this post because I'm researching tire options for my Coupe. She's got about 14k, and original rubber.

I have the 19's, and would like to get the widest rear that will safely fit on the rim. Any idea on what size that would be without freaking out the VSC? I'm looking for a nice wide tire that will help protect against rim rash and a wider contact patch for hooking up.

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!

I have the Michelin Pilot Sports and have been very happy with them so far. Have had them for about 2000 miles. They are a little pricy....222 for the front and 277 for the rear on TireRack.com Here are the sizes I am running...

Front: 225/45ZR18 Rear: 245/45ZR18

Very good in the rain too.....I know from experience

Thanks! I'm not sure on the brand yet either...First though, I need to figure out what size to shop for. Stock size for the 19s are:

Original Equipment Front 225/40-19 Original Equipment Rear 245/40-19

I'm trying to go wider on the rear, if possible...

Tire-rack reviews show Avons to be a less costly replacement for 18". Does anyone know anything about these tires, they look pretty nice and I think they are manufactured by Dunlop(?)
