Alright guys. On Saturday I had the Rota P45R's 17x9 +25 installed all around on my 96 240sx. I had originally purchased the Kumho ASX tires, but the shop decided to change my tires to some BF Goodrich tire (I believe the tire size on there now is - 245/40 17). These tires are meaty as heck (close to what the stock tires were) and make a butt load of noise - more on the lines of the noise a tire makes when it's low on air. And it feels like I'm riding on bricks.

I have 30 days to change the tires if need be, but have no idea what to get. I would like a thinner tire so my car doesn't looked jacked up in the air, and I also do not want to roll fenders or strech tire to get it to fit. On top of that the car has been lowered up to an inch and a half all around.

help me please!

That tire size is way too thin for a 9" wheel width. You need to get wider tires something al least a 215/45/R17. Im surprised those tires even seated on the rim and held air. There are various tire calculators on the internet to calculate tire size for such a rim and it will tell you how far your speedo will be off as well. heres a link: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlas for your noise problem it's probably just the tires. Because if thats is the actual tire size you have on that rim there is gonna be problems... Kumho ecsta are good low pro tires that are cheap and higher performance.

im sure he meant to put 245/40/17..as for the noise, like Jester said, its probably just the tires themselves.

(<~~she) Yes I meant 245. But anyhow, I tested them out on the interstate yeasterday, and oh my, so much noise. My car sways all over the road and there's no grip. I don't recommend these tires unless you're dring a truck.
