new timing chain tensioner rusted

i installed it a month ago, and all i did was leave it in a cup of oil for about 10 minutes before installation, and look at it now. does anybody now if this is normal? i bought the tensioner from phase2.

It's fine. Made of the same material as stock exhuast manifold it looks like. hard stuff.
