Does anyone know what the production dates are for 93 Qs with the new chain guides. What's the cutoff date? I was aware of the chain guide failures before I bought my Q almost 4 years ago, but I thought that I was safe. I can recall TJ from Scottsdale posting on the Yahoo forum that the problem was corrected in the 93Q. Now I'm hearing that not all 93s are covered.

Nobody knows for sure. Better safe than sorry. 10 years old is a good time to reseal valve covers anyways.

I don't think you can see the guides from the rocker covers. Does anyone know if by maybe pulling the rocker cover and then the upper timing covers (above the head gasket) if you could see the guides from there? Might be a cheaper way to inspect since more people would resealing rocker covers, and you wouldn't have to pull the harmonic balancer and front cover...

Takes less than 5 hours to look [remove front cover and crank pulley] and a new front crank seal.
