Hi Guys,

I am from Sydney-Australia.

Glad to find a dedicated Tiida Forum.

I just bought a 2006 Black Tiida for my wife as an early Xmas present and she loves it.

My car is a Nissan X-Trail, so we're happy to stick with the Nissan brand, as the xtrail has been a very reliable car for me over the past 5 years.

Anyway, back to the Tiida, this little thing is like a small rocket, am pretty impressed with how it goes and love the handling of it for such a small sedan.

I'll be modifying it for my wife shortly and it will soon have the works

Being a black sedan, it will soon have the full body-kit, spoiler and all the chrome bits attached to it.

The only problem so far is that we bought this car with one key and one remote fob (to unlock the doors), so I went a head and ordered a spare key for it from Nissan and when I got home, I thought I'd try and unlock the door using the key...no luck

It seems once the car is locked with the press from the remote fob, there is no way to unlock the car using the key

I'd hate to be stuck somewhere with a dead battery in the remote, as it'll be impossible to gain access to the car.

With my xtrail, the doors can be unlocked using the factory key, just in case your remote battery is dead.

Anyway, I have a spare remote which I previously bought from eBay (xtrail and tiida share exactly the same remote fob).

I also have the self re-programming instructions which I used previously in the xtrail to re-program new remotes, I have tried these instructions with the Tiida and no luck

I was wondering if you guys know of a special method to re-program the remote for the Tiida?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Guys,

For any Australian Tiida owners here, I have just started our very own Australian Nissan Tiida Club and all are welcome to drop by

It can be found HERE

I run the Australian X-Trail Forum, so I thought it'll be appropriate to have a dedicated Australian Tiida site as well for all Aussie owner to share their experiences with one another.

P.S. This is not an attempt to high-jack members of this great site, it is a start of a great international collaboration between Australian and other Tiida/Versa owners.

They do export overseas through their webstore HERE, so you can order from them direct and pay by credit card online.
