Has anyone out there try to update the look of the clusters on their 240sx???? I have an S13 with HUD and the speedometer and other lights within it is very very dim and ugly lookin....The physical shape is perfect otherwise. I was wondering if anyone has tried replaceing the bulbs wth LEDs or anyother way to brighten up the dash other then the EBAY white face that glows at night. I was lookin to obtain a black face with red mubering and dashes at night...if anyone out there has tryied or have ideas...let us all know. thanks.

The white stickers are the easiest to do. I put in the indiglo and they don't light up.

Ok for the blue I used the WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs and #74 LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com. For the needles I use importintelligence.com IntelliGlow Needle Kits. I also scaped the white piant off the back of the needles with a razor blade and then repainted them red with a testors paint pen. The climate controls are a little more work as there is no direct fit leds. I used the same #74's, trimed the base off and soldered them into place.

Add yes the DCC are fully functional and you can find complete setups on ebay for around 250. There are several write ups here on nico on how to install them. Its not to hrad to do just read the threads throughly.

Not completely about the cluster but it could give you some ideas later on if you decide to mount other gauges.

Btw, elo, do you have a day shot? I didn't know you colored the needles. I'm curious to see how it looks.

All very nice with the lights and all, but on the S13 cluster, you really should consider junking the HUD or the 115MPH cluster and get a JDM cluster which can be recalibrated to accurately give you 0-180MPH, and miles on the odo. You will need a resistor, and a small hole drilled in the cluster case for access to the pot for calibration. A chassis dyno can give you the safety of not losing control while calibrating. This will work on any twin cam s13 or any s13 with an SR20DET swap. Also works with either the KA or SR speed sensor (different resistor value). PM for details.

So i'm thinking about doing this to my car....from what I've found though it looks like superbrightleds.com makes some led's that would fit straight into the climate control lights as direct replacements...

the NeoWedge series LED Lamphttp://superbrightleds.com/instrument.html

the 3mm NEO3 looks exactly like the ones I took out of my 1998 240...I'm going to try these and the WLED-x5 Wedge Base for my gauge cluster this week along with the needle kit

The neo 3mm from superbrightleds.com didn't quite fit but with a light push they went in just fine and work great...they look stock just more white and a lot brighter....

Yeah, even I breeze through the posts sometimes. Completely missed it. I'm debating leaving it white, or doing something similar. Really don't want to pull the needles, I've heard horror stories. As far as the import intelligence lighting, I'm just heat shrinking LEDs to the diffusers. I'll post up pics when I'm done.

i'd like to know how!!! also does anybody know if a bezel is made for the digital cluster? i think a bezel would be more appealing while only changing the led bulbs... does anybody know???
