I have it bleed to where its resonable and it should allow the t-stat to open. I have checked to see if its working correctly. Its still overheating and dosen't seem like coolant is flowing correctly. Btw im gettin a nissan t-stat cause this one starts opening at 180 and is fully open at 190. Kinda rediculus. I let the engine get to about 205 and the bottom hose was still cold.gumby74 wrote:I had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago with the exception of me running a thermostat to begin with.
I have no idea how, but I had developed an air pocket in the system. After bleeding the cooling system for the better part of an hour with the nose of the car elevated and no less than 3 different thermostats, all is well now.
This happened from one day to the next mind you. Drove the car to and from work on a Friday, did not use the car again until Saturday night and after about 30 minutes noticed my water temp creep from the usual 190* to just over 220*. Same symptoms you are describing: No coolant flow out the lower hose.
i have aftermarket electric fans, and they work fine.hboninc19 wrote:Check the clutch on the fan
