I am getting started on my most recent project, swapping a redtop into an s14. I have a lot of parts that should be here soon and will be updating progress.

Getting ready to handle business.......

Business handled......

Now to the pedals, it was auto. I could not find s14 pedals to save my life so I made some s13 pedals work with minor mods.

I got the chinese exhaust system on my 240 (92) and everything lined up perfectly with no modifications to make it fit.

New updates.....

My engine came in Thursday, and guess what? I ordered a red top and I got a black top. A type-x black top to be specific. This is a little irritating considering I have already bought a conversion harness for a red top, not a freakin type x. long sigh... Anyway I sent the j4 ecu back and am hoping to get a 62 pretty soon. I am using a conversion harness from wiring specialties for my swap, it is a direct plug and play. Yury from WS is a nice guy to work with. So far the trans and engine harnesses fit like a glove. I have accomplished a lot since the engine came in. I am basically waiting on parts to finish this thing and fire it up. My engine came from osaka jap motors out of canada. I am highly irritated that the swap did not come with a maf or ignitor. To make matters worse the throttle body was bent and not functional at all when I got the engine. Just to put a little icing on the cake the were rocks in the intake! WTF! How the hell do rocks get in the intake. Maby a disgruntled employee..... otherwise the motor is very clean and the intake ports look good.

Pics are in my photbucket album, it wont let me post big pics with this new server nico is using, or I don't know how.

That really sucks all the crap with the motor set. I would definitely get them to replace it all. Good luck though and the gauges look great...

There isn't too much of a difference in the harness between the two. Just gotta move 3 or 4 wires on the main ecu plug. I got a Type X motor running a j4 harness with a 62 ecu.

I know it's only a few pins, I was actually going to just re-pin it, but I bought brand new harnesses from wiring specialties to run a 62 ecu, and I just did not want to risk messing up any pins in a brand new conversion harness, since I am accident prone.

well I got the motor in and running pretty good. I have a few more hoops to jumps through before I can test drive, as noted by my other posts.

also don't ever buy an engine from osaka japan. they wouldn't know what a throttle body was if I slapped them in the face with it. The engine was nice and clean and sounds good but they know nothing about engines, and customer service.......what customer service? :slap:  :bash: :stickhit:

Don't use that greddy BOV! I can't stand mine. It's leaked since the day I bought it(brand new). That's just my opinion. I hate it.

I agree. I went through 3 of them before just getting a Tial. If you recirculate it, it's not as bad, but it still will leak. I've even had HKS BOV's leak a little. My TIAL is perfect.

Swap looks like fun! I did one to a 96 auto a couple years back, lol.

Why do you have 2 air/fuel meters?
