Hey i just got back my swap and i have an autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge. But it is reading low. When i start the car it spikes up at 45 psi then settles down to 25 then below 10 at idle. When the car is warm it doesnt go any higher than 25 psi though, no matter what rpm its at. In the engine bay i can see there is air in the pressure line, could that be causing the problem and if so how do i get it out. Also, the car doesnt make any noise like lifters clicking oranything,ThanksSean

when i start my car the gauge reads 45 too, and 25 after warm up, i have a electrical gauge, however when i rev the car up the gauge reads between 30 and 40.

Well when it is warm, the max it hits is 25 psi then at idle probably less than 5. But everything sounds okay, and the oil light in the dash doesnt turn on.

i have a autometer mechanical as well.mine reads about 15 at idle when warm and about 40-50 when cruising.when i first installed it i too saw air in the line and i called autometer tech service, and he told me that the air in the line is normal, and the gauge is still reading accurately.as for your low pressure condition i would double check you dont have a pinhole or a small leak somewhere in your line.
