new suspension?

hey dudes,. i was thinking about getting a new suspension job,. new shocks,. or struts,. w/e they are,..i know i know,. i should know,.. anywho,. what do you guy's recommend? considering price and performance,. i want something that'll handle like hell,. but yet,. retaint a slight comfy ride,.,.what do ya think?

You really only have 2 choices without getting a custom job. Either factory Tokicos or Tokico Blues. The blues are a bit stiffer, but a lot cheaper than factory. Be sure to get new rubber bushings, as this will soften the ride. Rebuilt strut assemblies on all 4 corners makes the car a dream ride. Replace the sway bar end link bushings too.

This is something you GOTTA go big or go home on.. GO ALL OUT.....

Get your shocks from Alex at southwest auto works.. $265 a set I paid... Another 400ish in upper links, tension rod bushings, insulator caps, sway bar bushings, dust boots, and other rubber things....

It handles like its on rails..... And a super smooth highway cruiser too... Youll love it!!!

BTW, are you planning on coming to the Louisville meet....?

Please understand that the best a super optimum suspension modification can do is increase what the brand new handling was by 3-4%.Failure to maintain components can make the vehicle horrible in sway and feel imprecise down to dangerous to drive!

Failure to utilize SOFT compound oem style tires can have an even more dramtic NEGATIVE effect. As the tires see 1200 pounds sitting still and 1632 pounds in a severe turn.

Study the Tire Rack suspension upgrade tests and the Tire test [from best to worst] and see what is possible.

Most people who never bought an old Q new are in AWE at how it handles as new with all the worn components replaced and running 200 treadwear tires [factory fit was 170 treadwear].

To achieve this higher handling level, components are stressed and wear our fast.
