This month I am going to be falling into some money, about $700 and I need a new suspension setup BADLY. This car is my Daily Driver, but I enjoy what may be called as "spirited" driving. Sure I enjoy to drag it and sure I enjoy to race around I-285 (its a highway that goes around Atlanta) Anyway, the point is that my current suspension is SHOT and I need a new one. I really dont want to go the coilover route first off they are expensive, they have too much of a drop for me (we have tons of speed bumps in the places I drive) and ive heard they are tons stiffer, and I enjoy my spine since I drive this car LONG miles sometimes.

I have chosen a setup and im about to buy all the parts, but I want to be sure there isnt anything im missing. Also I have listed the places I am probably going to buy from. If its a bad idea, let me know. The following is the setup I am about to purchase.

KYB AGX Shocks and Struts - $350 (for all 4) from E-bayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Tein S-Tech Springs - $150 from K2Motor.com

Energy Suspension Sway Bar Bushings (mine are shot) - $15 from SportCompactOnly.com

Prothane T/C Rod Bushings $23 from PDM Racinghttp://www.pdm-racing.com/prod....html

KYB Strut Boot Kit (to protect them) $60 from Summit Racinghttp://store.summitracing.com/...03162

I know I need the Master Bushing kit, but im going to do that later. I just want the parts in there first. Or should i do that master Bushing kit first? Let me know what you think and give me any ideas or experience you might have.

How can a coilover have too much of a drop? The entire point to having coilovers is the ability to change your ride height and adjust the dampening on your shocks.

The Stech/AGX combo isn't a bad setup though. There are many people on here running that same thing. Spring/shock combo's are good for people who don't want or need a lot of adjustability in their suspension, and don't auto x/drift/etc enough to justify buying a set.

Most coilovers are adjustable to as little as a 1" drop. My car is lowered over 3 inches on coilovers, and I never scrape the bumper or underside of the car. Coilovers are the only way to go if you are interested in a high performance suspension system for your car.

I take 250+ mile long trips to track events around TX with my 8/6 rate coilovers, and it doesn't bother me at all.

ok, i am sry, you are both right, this wasnt meant to be an "attack on coilovers" thread, you all dont need to get on here and tell me why yours are the greatest thing since buttons on shirts and sliced bread. They arent for me, I dont need that much adjustability, really. The topic is, will this setup work, and are there parts that im missing that i need to buy?

for instance, I just saw on Sumit Racing these KYB Strut Mount Plates:http://store.summitracing.com/...w=skuwill these be necessary to do the install?

Please remember this is the first suspension instal I have ever done, and im trying to collect everything to get it done.

I know that alot of ppl have the AGX & S-Tech setup, thats one reason I researched it so much. What I really am wondering is; do i need anything else to get this done? I dont want to get my car ripped apart and then realize that I need more parts.

Let me know if you think im missing something or if i need those strut mount plates

With a tein/agx setup, that's really all that's necessary, technically speaking. You're probably going to have some camber issues though. I'm not sure how bad it would be, but you could get buy on just the spring/shocks if you wanted too.

The big thing im wondering now is do i need those KYB Strut Mount Plates?

I looked into the camber issues of thise setup and have read that anything BELOW a 1.5 drop and there are issues, but you can drop it 1.5 and under and only need a re-alignment done, so im not too worried about that. I would do JUST do the shocks/springs, but my bushings are pretty bad under there.

i have kyb agx with tein stech. i just reuse the stock ones thats all. no issues with camber at all. just get alignment and your set.

btw i loved my setup, had it for like 2-3 years. it was the first mod done to my car.
