Here is my latest subwoofer box. I got tired of giving up so much of my hatch space for my box, so I decided to try my hand at fiberglass. It was a little messy working, but I'm loving the new enclosure. The new box also really improved the sound of the sub. I guess the smaller volume (about .75 cuft) improved the sound as well.

I do intend to eventually upgrade the speaker and amp, but this will do for now. I apoligize for the picture quality, I wanted to hack something out, so I just used my phone. I may take some better pics later.

Updated the pics. Those other ones were really bad. Anyway, this isn't a job for anyone impatient, and the space is only big enough to fit a 10" subwoofer, so if you insist on a 12, this isn't for you.

does anybody know if you can fit a 12 in the stock compartment?? i got a SL that came with subs, was wondering if a 12 can fit in there without any modifications. and also how hard is it to install an aftermarket amp +sub to stock HU, ive read that you tap into the rear speaker cables? how does that work?

You can see by how the 10" fits in this box that a 12" would be crowded. You could probably get creative with one, I'm sure a talented boxmaker could find space for one.

As for wiring one, if you have an SL, the wiring for the powered sub does exist on the driver side in the rear compartment. You can tap into these lines for your audio signal. I wouldn't use the power sending line for any amp, it is way to small, so you'll still have to run power.
