New style injector harness has 4 connectors per side?

I am obviously confused.

I ordered the harness kit for my 93 N/A 2+2 from courtesy Nissan, and they sent old style connecors. The square ones. So I had to call and point out that 93 N/A 2+2 has new style injectors, with oblong connectors (with orange inserts).

So the guy made sure that I checked my car, and I confirmed that the connectors were the new style. He generated an RMA for me, and UPS picked it up. I paid the $10 difference. The new style harnesses arrived, and they have 4 connectors per side!

Sounds like he sent you a replacement harness for a V8, such as the VH45DE or VK56DE engines. Looks like you're gonna have to call them back and start over.

Unless you have change ecu harness to a Wiring Specialties harness, that will not work at all. The only way to get new injector clips/harness is to solder them on if it was a factory harness. The whole harness cost close to 400, wiring specialties added a connector so you can take off just the injectors from the main harness without soldering.

I agree with Jr, that looks like it was for the VH45DE engine or VH41DE.

Mmmph! What a headache!

I thought I was going the Oem way! Just like Nissan has the connectors and harness for the old style, I expected them to have one for the new style. Same as the one for the old style, but instead of square connectors, oblong connectors!

The one they have for the old style involves splicing, which I understood and was prepared to do! But now I gotta start over! Ggrrrrrh!

Nothing wrong with splicing. Anyways, one thought is that they sent you the replacement for the center part of the harness that goes to 1,2,3,4. 5 and 6 come from a different part of the harness, I believe.

Anyways, Wiring Specialties if you're going to do a replacement. The injector section has an extra disconnect in case you ever decide to go to another type of injector, so you can just buy the new sub harness.

Cut the connectors off the new ones you got and spice them in, save the 2 for spares.

^^^ agreed, thats the easiest way, IF your original connectors are not falling apart form the heat.

That patch is to convert from old style to new style.

I am already new style connectors. I just need to refresh them. If I bought 6 patches just to cut off the old style connectors and use the new style, it would be a very expensive way of doing it! $13 X 6 = $78!

Thank yoyu everybody for chiming in!

You see how courtesy Nissan has this for sale:

I was looking for the same thing, only without the square connectors! Minor change - the round ones for new style injectors! That's all!

How is everybody else doing it? All you folks with 94 TT's, and 93 2+2's, how or where do you get replacement injector connectors without upgrading to the $400 EFI harness first?

If there is not a harness solution out there like the one courtesy Nissan sells for the old style, maybe somebody should start making those to cater to the need of all the new style injector Z32's on the road!

Do you feel my pain? I want to solder in the new harnesses for the new style injectors without braking the bank!

Thanks a lot to itsa300zx!

Just what I needed! I wish I had known! I just figured... Calling a Nissan parts store would have been enough. I would get those connectors, OEM! You know!

Once again; thanks everyone! I've now found what I need, courtesy of itsa300zx, not Courtesy Nissan!

I hope those are not 3-wire, though. That's how they look in the picture. Because then it would complicate things.

There's nothing wrong with the wiring specialties parts. Support the vendors that are supporting us. For sensors and critical parts, OEM is often the safer bet, but this is pretty simple stuff

I have a wiring specialty harness, great quality and zero issues on start up. If you need just the connectors, I have some fairly new ones, maybe used 5k miles before getting a new harness. If you want them, $30 shipped for all 6. Great condition with no issues. I will also include some heat shrink tube.

Not 3 wire, that's just the shadows of the two wires in that pic.
