scouring pads + "dissolves it" (avaialble at autozone) work awesome for removing the tape for the record. Heat it up (I used a torch just turned it down low and kept it far away) but a heatgun is best... heat it up, pull it off, use a plastic scraper to help you out, and then scouring pads and dissolves it to get the residue off. You may have to buff your paint after that the scouring pads can make swirls in the paint... you can just use a cloth but it takes a LOT more elbow grease. If you want your paint to stay good you'd probably be better off buying a cheap package of cotton cloths and soaking them in dissolves it and just keep rotating them to get a clean surface... once it gets like "saturated" (more like packed) with that foam residue **** it won't take off anymore.
