Man oh man! Expensive but, jeeze louise, what a car! Incredible handling! My tech said in his Austrain accent, "All that luxury with the sportscar suspension." I was finding the limits of my tires tonight coming home. Steering is easier and steering wheel snaps back to center very quickly. Ride comfort is all business now. No wallowing.

Rhineholt showed me the old parts. The struts would compress easily and took forever to extend. He says that the new struts are gas filled. I didn't have time to ask him about that. I thought the OEM struts were oil filled.

I warned him about the flooding quirk of the J. He obviously didn't beleive me. He said the car started hard and ran rough with some smoke. He attributed to a bad injector. He 's good but, like some professionals, doesn't believe a layman can understand his car. I had several on off cycles after I picked up the car and had no problems and no smoke. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Now fresh front rotors and pads.

Next, take care of that annoying rust spot on the left rear joint by the rocker panel. That's not going to get any smaller.

Mike, congrats on the "new" ride. I'm so jealous. I need to replace these same suspension components on my J.

I can tell it's gotten really wobbly lately. It's just so dang expensive!!

I need to do it though. My car only has 78K miles and I plan to keep it for a while so I need to suck it up and just do it. The hard part is explaining to the wife why I "need" to drop a thousand bucks on maintenance.

It really is incredible.... Ive found the limits of my tires in the handling department....... Its pretty hard on tires trying to throw a 4000lb car on a corner at 40....

All I need now is the FSTB and a rear sway bar kit.... $$$$ is lacking, though..... :(

When the J was gettng repaired they were moving it once in a while only running it for seconds at a time. On the expressway last night, I floored it and the biggest puff of black carbon smoke I have ever seen exploded out the tail pipes!

When conditions are right to see, as on a cold day, the explosion of exhaust at WOT is a sight to behold.

Just had my wife start the J after sitting all night. Instantly came to life and not the faintest trace of smoke. :)

Those eight second tuneups are necessary at least every week!

Speaking of bushings, I turned 22 today and mom's paying for the rack bushings to take care of off-center, vague steering($360 service at the dealer). I was hoping she'd return from Orlando with the keys to an M45, but she knows better than to hand 340hp to her 22 year old son. :D

Besides, the last car gift I got from her was a white 93 Accord. Blech.
