New stereo made airbag light go on

Hello, I just installed an aftermarket stereo in my 2003 Frontier, and after it was done, the airbag light came on. (The light is in the dash, where the other warning lights are, NOT the one for the passanger side) I used a Metra wire kit.

Now, Ive done many stereo installs and have never had anything like this happen. Please help!

a lot of newer vehicles run security and safety features through the factory radio. same types of things happened with my 01' cavalier. there was an option to buy a wire harness from the dealer, but i didn't want to spend the extra 200 bucks i beleive it was. so curcuit city wired it to the battery, and i lost the ability to turn the key to the one position (to turn only the radio on) and the dings when the door is open or the lights are left on. so if you want everything to work like factory you should check with the dealership about the correct harness
