Is it worth it? Definitely. Most fun vehicle you will EVER own!!!I swear by it. Plenty power, easy swap. Go for it man! And every day the aftermarket support for these engines is growing!

As above and I recomend an S13 motor as the OBD1 and before are easier to wire up, easier to work on and have a slightly larger aftermarket support.

PS: Top mount manifolds can also be properly flanged for some HUGE turbos also. Us bottom mounts can have the same turbo but will suffer more lag.
