new sr swap, knocking noise and sludge/shavings under valve cover

just finished my sr swap and got everything running havent driven it yet cause once we got the exhaust on and got a good sound of the motor we heard a knocking which didn't sound good

we pulled the valve cover to try and diagnose what was going on, found the valve cover and motor caked with sludged and metal shavings and the cams looked polished and in s***ty condition, im wondering if most people find this quality with used jdm motors and if this is my problem and or is there a fix? but seeing this makes me wonder what is in the rest of the motor, we tried to crank it over with the valve cover off to see if the squirters were squirting and no dice...im assuming s*** is just clogged with this sludge

i might just go with my warranty and swap in a different motor or is there another solution to get this s*** cleaned out, knocking sound gone [dont believe its rod knock now but rather the cams] without having to a complete tear down and rebuild?

send motor back, usually you have 30 day start up warranty.

I hope you don't get the run-around trying to use the warranty, cause it looks like some one opened up your valve cover and pooted in your engine
