Ok well I have the engine finally finished...the fuel pump primes and all, the engine cranks but wont start...the car has good fuel, spark, compression is 155..CAS is in correctly...and we double checked timing to see if its somehow off.....now here is my question..is it possible at all that the cams were switched when they were installed??? they are BC cams...could it be that the intake cam is on the exaust side and exaust on intake side...or is there something else i should be looking for

he said he's gettin spark and fuel..its possible you are getting too much fuel therefore flooding the engine..also you did some head work with the cams? did you do anything else? there is a part of the head that when messed with it will get air in it and take a good amount of cranks to bleed it..im not sure what part..the lifters i believe? dont quote me since i have never worked with internals..also how did you check your timing if the car wasnt running? check your fuel injectors to see if any of them are staying open too long and check the voltage of your coilpacks and ignitor

To answer some of your questions S13Fastbacksr since Im helping with the motor install and starting issues.

We didnt check the timing we SET the timing on the Crank and Cams. Big difference.

Also yes we are getting fuel and spark we tested the injectors and spark coils and we are getting both. I think its either miss install of the cams or we just havnt gotten the timing just right even though we have followed the Factory FSM to a t.

so you SET the timing on the crank and cams..i didnt know there was a way to set the timing of the crank with the engine not running..what i would do is keep readjusting the cas after each crank..if you are getting spark and fuel but no start then it must be the timing or vac leaks..
