So I got my tax returns and I'm interested in getting new springs and shocks for my 240sx. I've read a few reviews on koni yellows and I am leaning that way. I've seen prices into $350 for the front and about $270 rears. I also looked into getting kyb agx they are a little cheaper, anyone have personal opinions on what they are like? Also, I'm going w/ eibach springs just not sure whether to get sportline or pro-kit. pro-kit lowers a little less and I probably would have no problem bottoming out but anyone know if the sportline would be better? my brother has prokit springs on his supra and he really likes them, although they aren't as stiff as he would've liked them to be. So there it is guys, koni yellows and eibach springs (sportline or pro-kit), or something else? what do you guys think?

if you want stiffer than stock, you probably shouldnt get eibachs

the question is, how much stiffer you want to go?

also if you want to spend the extra $200 for the konis by all means go ahead, but the kyb will be fine for your application

really? eibachs aren't stiffer than the stock ones? I mainly want to get new springs because I feel like my car rolls and dips to much. And I am sure the shocks are worn since they have yet to be changed. the pro-kit eibach my brother got on his supra were stiffer than his stock set up so its weird that you say that the stock nissan units will be stiffer. what about the sportline kit, although I'm worried that I will bottom out more since the sportline lowers the car closer to 2 inches and I just hear konis are better than kyb agx. I won't be adjusting the rears all that much so I don't mind that you have to remove them to stiffen or soften them up

the best would probably be koni yellows with rsr race springs(or maybe down i forget. the stiffer ones) but this adds up to be almost as much as cheaper coilovers, like megan racing, or tein basics. a popular combo is agxs with tein s-techs, and should be a little under $500 new on ebay.

im actually getting agx with the rs*r down, at 50% stiffer than stock theyll be plenty for street, ill be switching to coilovers in a couple years

and id take yellows with rs*r race over low end coilovers any day, though id probably get ground control sleeve overs before i got rs*r race

I would go with the kyb agx and eibach red sportlines. If you need to adjust. I got the regular kyb and used eibachs for $240 everything shipped. I went low budget but good enough for my needs. They have the agx on ebay for pretty good prices I found the the reg kyb for 143.

so you went with the sportlines kit. do you have an s13? do your tires rub or bottom out anywhere cause that is my main concern if I go to low with the sportlines. the rs r set, what is the difference between those and the eibachs? are they better quality, stiffer, etc. I want something better than stock, something stiffer, that won't roll as much, and I would like to lower my car just a lil bit all around since I am putting my oem s13 wheels on now. I have the money to spend on the more expensive konis but is that necessary to do so? its my daily driver, not racing or anything just want something stiffer, stronger, and lower my car while improve overall feel of the suspension. help me out guys

id recommend the same setup im doing then, or something similar

the agx's will be just fine for you

my rs*r's are 3 kg/mm, 50% stiffer than stock front and rear, and they lower it just right, youll have like about a 1.5 inch gap

tein s-techs lower the same amount, but arent quite as stiff, theyre still stiffer than sportlines though

sportlines are way too low for agx's, the shocks wont last long with them

also for decreased body roll try getting better sway bars, something like suspension techniques will suit you just fine, theyll be a great improvement, and they dont cost that much either

Follow nismofly advise... I am still waiting for the shocks/struts to come and let you know the outcome also I might change if too low. I dont have the experience of knowing people with different setups. What Ive been reading points to his advise. My question is if you buy the struts/shocks shouldnt you get the same manufactures springs because they would at least be tested to work with those springs. I dont know.....

damn I have read so much about different set ups and brands. i've heard good and bad from koni yellows, agxs, eibach pro-kit and sportlines, and rs*r springs....i'm confused as hell now. I was thinking sportlines and yellows then I kept hearing its gonna be too stiff. then sportlines and agxs and I hear that the sportlines are too low and the agxs can prematurely fail. then I heard the pro-kit isn't all that stiff even w/ a set of agxs. i'm thinking of going with the agx shocks and pro-kit setup. help me out guys. i'm kinda of skeptic on the rs*r brand. i guess I don't know a whole lot about it.
