Well, I finally pulled the trigger and had the new Sirius Sportster 4 installed in my 2002 Q45 this past week. Removed the old cassette deck that is completely useless to me and put the new unit in its place. A little fiberglass and it looks pretty much like it was meant to be there. I still have use of the lighter and ashtray and was able to keep things looking nice and clean.

very clean

Did you do it your self?

I thought the cassette unit was the Head unit?I pulled my cassette out and it had the AM & FM frequency Labling on the back. I know there is a second metal unit right above it.....

Very tight installation! Infiniti missed the boat hiding the changer and exposing the tape deck in '02... glad they caught it fast and fixed the problem in '03!

I didn't do it myself, I wouldn't trust my limited skills to mess with the interior of this car. I took to an Ultimate Electronics out here in Arizona. I'm not sure of exactly what is behind the tape deck but he said he could put the unit there and hardwire it for power and FM connection and I told him to for it. Dropped the car off at 10am and had it back at 7pm same day.

After driving all over the palce this weekend I'm very happy with it and can't wait to go get the cable I need to be able to use my MP3 player with this Sirius unit. Having all of my music at my fingertips as well as some podcasts that I never bothered to download in the past will be a joy.

Nice install, and a damn good look BTW!

For those with 03+ F50's that are non smokers, the ash tray area could be utilized and lighter/power outlet relocated keeping full use of the disc changer, as well as the cassette units on the 02 Q and 03-04 M45.

The shop did a great job. Looks like a stock unit...

GREAT JOB! I love it!

I'm in the process of adding a DVD player to my 2003. I too find the cassette player totally useless and would like to find a DVD unit that will fit in the tape player's current location.

I'm also trying to figure out how to patch the sound through the "SAT" input. PAC makes a component that might work, but I don't think it's been tested on the F50.

Once I figure everything out, I will definitely share my experience...
