Not entirely true. Depends on the listener's habits and choice of music. Not everyone like to thump and broadcast music with their mobile radio stations.rdsworks wrote:Don't expect much of a change since the HU outputs 180watts
so 180/4 = 45watt/speaker maximum. I have an apline HU which outputs 50watts with decent speakers and I still need to buy an amplifer to get anywhere with them.
goodluck, there is a tutorial on how to installem at nissanversa.org
Speakers don't output any power at all. The difference between 180 and 240 watts is negligible. A new HU may sound better/different but that's a whole nother story.Mile High Versa wrote: I want to take full advantage of my speakers since they output 240watts Max instead of the stock 180watts on the stock HU. These stock speakers aren't cutting it anymore.
Actually it is partly true, when he says not much of a change, you will not have the ability to have a system that is much louder, but your sound quality will improve slightly, but at higher volumes, it will distort.feloniousmonk wrote:

Did I not say "not entirely true"??Mr. LS wrote:Actually it is partly true

Do you look like this? http://eatourbrains.com/EoB/wp...l.jpg
And what did I say? Not everyone wants a system that thumps. Some people just want better sound quality.
Please remove the stick that is up your ***!feloniousmonk wrote:

Cool. Thanks.Mile High Versa wrote:Sorry to bump the thread. My speakers came in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to get them installed on the 20th. Will let you know how it sounds on a factory HU.
I don't believe the bass is lacking compared to the OE speakers. It may not distort as much as the OE speakers which would make the Kenwood's less noticeable below 200hz. The weakest point of the OE speakers in the bass. That's pretty common in speakers in general.Mile High Versa wrote: the bass is lacking compared to the stock speakers.
Or you could use one of those powered subs Crutchfield sells. Some are small, won't sacrifice as much cargo space and less complicated to install than amps and sub boxes. It's a hatch, so you don't need a lot of power or size to get good clean bass... unless you like the sound of body panels rattling along with your music.Mile High Versa wrote:The mids and highs are much cleaner, however, the bass is lacking compared to the stock speakers. I may opt for a 4 or 5 channel amp to boost the performance on these babies, and a 12" kenwood sub.
