So, after listening to music in my car, I've grown tired of the stock speakers. My Versa came with the convenience package, six disc changer. I just bought aftermarket speakers and plan to keep the stock HU because I don't want to lose the steering mount controls and bluetooth feature. Will be replacing them withhttp://www.kenwoodusa.com/KFC-1682ie. The shipping was $12.61 a total of $106.82. I will let you all know how the sound quality is over the stock speaks on the SL convience package.

Don't expect much of a change since the HU outputs 180watts

so 180/4 = 45watt/speaker maximum. I have an apline HU which outputs 50watts with decent speakers and I still need to buy an amplifer to get anywhere with them.

goodluck, there is a tutorial on how to installem at nissanversa.org

To be honest, I'd rather upgrade the stock HU to a Kenwood HU that has bluetooth, but all the steering wheel control adapters for the Kenwood HU I checked on Crutchfield at this

http://www.crutchfield.com/App...avf=N

According to that, it says its not compatible with my vehicle. The only Kenwood HU that had bluetooth I want is the Kenwood KDC-MP928. I want to take full advantage of my speakers since they output 240watts Max instead of the stock 180watts on the stock HU. These stock speakers aren't cutting it anymore. I may just wait on the aftermarket HU for a while until there are some compatible ones out there. Anyone know of an adapter that works?

Not entirely true. Depends on the listener's habits and choice of music. Not everyone like to thump and broadcast music with their mobile radio stations.

Speakers don't output any power at all. The difference between 180 and 240 watts is negligible. A new HU may sound better/different but that's a whole nother story.

Actually it is partly true, when he says not much of a change, you will not have the ability to have a system that is much louder, but your sound quality will improve slightly, but at higher volumes, it will distort.

Sorry to bump the thread. My speakers came in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to get them installed on the 20th. Will let you know how it sounds on a factory HU.

I finally got my speakers installed. They are the Kenwood KFC-1682ie in pairs of two. Installed the two in the front and two in the back took me about 45 minutes or so. They are running on the factory 6 disc changer stereo that came with the conv. package.

As far as the sound quality, it is much better. The mids and highs are much cleaner, however, the bass is lacking compared to the stock speakers. I may opt for a 4 or 5 channel amp to boost the performance on these babies, and a 12" kenwood sub.

I don't believe the bass is lacking compared to the OE speakers. It may not distort as much as the OE speakers which would make the Kenwood's less noticeable below 200hz. The weakest point of the OE speakers in the bass. That's pretty common in speakers in general.

Or you could use one of those powered subs Crutchfield sells. Some are small, won't sacrifice as much cargo space and less complicated to install than amps and sub boxes. It's a hatch, so you don't need a lot of power or size to get good clean bass... unless you like the sound of body panels rattling along with your music.
