hey guys so i decided i would want to get a sound system and i consulted with a friend of mine who has a good system in his impala. He told me to get NEW infinity speakers/amp/subwoofers and tsunami cap. i was wondering if i do need to get new speakers because if i dont and have just stock speakers my subs would over power them :ohno: . any ideas? =\

OH YEAH! infinity or alpine ?

my set up would have been:
-6 new infinity speakers
-alpine subs 600w and amp 500w
-tsunami cap.

Stock speakers are almost always terrible. I would replace them anyway. In fact, from a sound quality standpoint, the best bang for your buck would be new speakers and an amp before even considering a sub. Just my two cents.

Also, please don't buy a cap. You might as well crumple up your money and light it on fire. You'd at least get to watch it burn for enjoyment. The capacitor, on the other hand, will provide you absolutely no benefit.

replace the factory head unit with an aftermarket head unit and speakers before adding an amp for a sub.

Capacitors are mostly bling like if you want to compete in sound competitions. They don't do what they're designed to do and sometimes hurt your system. You're better off with a deep cycle battery like a Kinetik or Shuriken as a starter or secondary battery.

i say just get the amp subs and a cross over/equalizer it will come with a decent deck where you can adjust everything i have all stock inside and wen i test the soun i can get the sub to harmonize with the treble and i have two 15" on a 1400 watt amp

forget that capacitor. It'll do more harm than good. You should really do the Big 3 electrical upgrade. Ask your friend with the impala if he has the Big 3. It's basically adding 4ga to 3 major grounding points in your engine bay which drastically reduces resistance and reduces or eliminates dimming caused by the big power draw by car audio mods like amps.
