new spark plugs= CEL

i have a 1995 240. with a stock ka24de with 150k. my CEL came on after my dad changed the plugs.. when i looked at them, i found out they were copper ones, and not platinum tipped ones. would that be causing the CEL to come on? this is the first time its come on. previous plugs were bosch platinums.

the only plug that you should put in that motor is a NGK R platinum. no bosch plugs. yes this could cause your cel to come on

why just the NGKs? ive used bosch in all of my cars before, and never had a problem with them.

because, for some reason nissans just love NGK over other brand plugs and u get the best performance from NGKs. i put NGK iridiums in both my sentra and 240 and ive had no problems. just some food for thought

ive used bosch in my z32, 200sx and altima before with zero problems. there is no proof that using NGK over any other brand will give you "best" performance.

my question was simple. "would using copper plugs cause a CEL" it doesnt matter what brand.
