2 subs + spare + amps = extra un-needed weight. Plus its not even close to stock height. Thanks though.Rex wrote:Looks like it should work.
Here's some ideas if you wanna get more creative ...
I dunno man, my buddy makes the stereo stuff, so as for materials and such when its done I'll get all the info. But I know its sealed, and its enough cu. ft. for the sub. And as stated in the post the sub face will be seen as will the amp faces, i'm going to carpet the templete, the stock carpet is over it just now as its stored for the winter in my garage. But the sub and box are light, very light. But yeah I'll get more pics and info once its up and running in the spring.yelnatsch517 wrote:Wow...what kind of materials you using for the box and it will be sealed right? How many cu. ft. will it be? Also, are you going to have anything covering the sub for protection? I know if it were me, I might forget a sub is under the mat and accidentally throw something in the trunk. What amp are you using? Man, that is kind of a hard task...to get it lighter than the spare. I know the sub I am getting itself weights 60lbs even though its only a 12". Well, once you have it done, would it be possible for you to take some pics or maybe a vid of it in action?
PSH no!! Music is important to some people. As long as something serves a purpose besides looking pretty aka has some substance, its all good in my book.S13GUY wrote:isn't any sub unnecessary weight though?
I should have enough HP to make up for it. And its still lighter than stock so I'm ok. And if it happens to make my car too slow I'll just build the headsS13GUY wrote:isn't any sub unnecessary weight though?
Its cool man, I just saw like 200lbs of stuff in that pic and was like ummm no. But as for removable mine will be as well. The templete is two pieces, like a 75/25 split and will be hinged so I can swing up part to remove it (wont be able to see any of it though and it'll look like 1 piece). I'll post lots of info up on it later as I think its a good setup for Z's and I'm sure my buddy could help anybody out off of here who would want one (he just does it out of his garage).Rex wrote:nsrZ32 - I posted to offer another idea of how to arrange. One option is to build 2 pieces with the amp offset in one side and the sub in the other and make them "removable". All the sub connections could easily disconnect from the amp section and the amp section could have racing type battery quick disconnections. With one sub, you should be able to maintain stock height. I should have explained my posts a little better. Sorry about that.
