They claim it's the OEM solenoid pack (all 4), but you may want to ask...

what does this part do? How do you know if you need one? Never heard of its failure on the Q.

It is the shift solenoids. Replaced them on my wife's 2000 Q45 at about 140K. Usually, only the one is replaced, but it is just as easy to replace them all at once.
