I just purchased a 1993 R32 GTS-t in North Carolina. The car has a US title, NC inspection sticker and registration.

I called my Insurance company (Safeco) to see if I could insure it. I was told that since its a gray market car that I'll need to get the Importation documents, EPA and highway safety checks, and a few other things. All which I don't have and won't be able to get.

My question is, how are you guys able to insure these non-motorex Skylines in the US? Any info would be appreciated. Please don't flame me for being a newb.

if theres a "progressive" insurance company in ur area. go with them. and insure it as a aftermarket vehicle or kit car. either way thats where me and my friends go.

I had Progressive insurance on my Subaru Impreza STi, but wasn't very impressed with their service when I needed repairs done.

I ended up going with State Farm, so the car is insured now
