New Skyline = G35?

I'm no expert, nor do i speak japanese so i cant really be sure about this, but I was just doing some reserarch on skylines when I came across the website for Nissan Japan, when I found a link in english that said feel the skyline. I click it, and all i find it a flash show of a G35. I click on Skyline Special Report, and there is another G35. Can somebody tell me whats goin on?

not to be mistaken for the GT-R however (A.K.A. the R35) which isnt out yet i dont believe....

the new GTR hasnt come out yet but there are many diferent pictures and drawings of it floating around the internet. it looks nothing like the g35.

techincally the GTR isn't a skyline though... I mean isn't it supposed to have the VQ engine it in?

why couldn't they just continue the nice line of cars they had going:mad: ?! Bring over the R32-34s and s15s! Heck, even remake the Sileighties, I'd buy one!

what they are doing is making the GT-R its own car, not a skyline GT-R, the 'new skyline' is the G-35, which yes is quick for a sedan, and also come it coupes, but nothing extraordinary, and when nissan brings over hte GT-R, it wil be a totally different car which boasts 4oo+hp out of the vq35dett, and 4wd of course, which as well all know the G-35 doesnt have

NO SPECS have come out yet for the GT-R. They haven't even said what will power the concept yet. The only thing Nissan has shown is a prototype. Nothing is set in stone.

Go to the Skyline section, there have been NUMEROUS threads talking about all of this.

I dont buy it myself,looks like some photochoping to me.The concept pics ive seen are sorta like that with dif headlights.I think that we are still too far out to speculate...

i think the more resent pics. of the R35 is the new sky. IDK when it's going to be coming out simply b/c of the 350, murano, 6th gen max. and the altima's. with infiniti the have their murano, the "new" skyline (g35 coupe and sedan) so it's really hard to teel whcich badge the R35 will be carring. since nissan dosen't want to go threw another financal (correct spelling please) crisis like in 98 which almost caused the company to go bankrupt. If it does come out know or any time in the near (1-2 yrs) later then nissan didnt learn from the past. i would be accpecting to see it though in about 3-4 yrs from now after they get teh 350 and G35's well setled in.

don't know if it's true, but someone tell me please..a few years ago i heard that the skyline didn't come thru to the U.S because of it's high horsepower and etc meaning they can outrun the cop so that's why it's not here. But then i been seeing cars that's coming out that have similiar horsepower to the skyline and it's being sale in the U.S. So wsupz now...

I think the trouble of making the RB26DETT pass emissions and converting it to left hand drive was too much to get much profit out of the endeavour. Remember when the R32 was new Nissan was seeing slumping sales on the overpriced overgadgeted 300ZX and American carbuyers were not so hot for turbocharged imports like they are now. They saw no market so they didn't send it over, simply good business.

Actually I dont think that there would be too much trouble in making the car pass emissions, but the rest u are very right on. Or maybe they just wanted to screw us over, like they did us on the 240sx, no sr20det. They just wanted to keep the skyline goodness away from the americans, those bastards........j/k, i love nissan!

the g-35 is the infinity version of the skyline it is downsized a lot and cheaper but for sale in the US so really it is the cheaper version

No actually it's about six badges shy of being the new Skyline, there is no difference except possibly some emissions equipment or computer settings
