First gen Frontier 2wd 15x7" with Sumitomo tires 205/60r15.

I seriously need to get my butt in gear and get this front suspension together so I can make it low. It sits like a 4x4 and even worse with these new tires. Hoping to take an extended weekend during April to get everything ready for Summer 2011. What do you guys think?

2" blocks in the rear and a torsion crank up front but before I start cranking stuff I have new Moog lower ball joints, Sway A Way torsion bars and ES control arm bushings sitting here in my living room. I will then turn the torsions down a bit to give it a bit of a raked look. On to the exhaust from there.

Never understood buying a truck and lowering it to car level, how will you jump a curb? I like sitting up as i can use my truck as a truck, go off road to fish haul stuff and enter a parking lot at over 2 mph LOL. I had a 300ZXTT sat so low you barely made it over a speed bump, fun on the road but a truck that low to me is useless, they do look cool though, but I need my truck to be a truck. LOVE being able to ride over some semi rough terrain to get to my favorite fishing hole.

The reason I can lower this one is because I own a 4x4 Frontier as of last week. I am not going for a 'yo yo yo' lowrider look, I am going for a sportier ITT look. No frame scraping here.

I vote yes on this truck. And while I do favor the ability to go off-road with the stock 2wd ride height, you turning in the direction of "sporty" instead of "lowrider" makes it too cool to care.

You have the best of both worlds then, a 4x4 for off road and curb hopping(lol) and a low slung cool looking truck. I would not mind lowering mine maybe 1-2 inches for stance and would still be able to curb hop at slow speeds hehe. I love the way they look with a small drop as long as i do not get the rough ride. The one thing I hate about the hard body is the tire clearance issue with fenders. I have stock chrome wheels and if i dropped it more than 1 inch i feel they may rub fenders, the hard body puts the wheels way to close to fender lips for me. This is my one pet peeve with this truck, wheel choice is limited and has no room for error. I have seen rangers and S10's with enough fender depth to put 8-9 inch rims and still not stick out, that and 6 lugs on 2 wd 4 cyl is OVER KILL. Limits rim choices a ton.

Yes it needs a lowering, it's wayyy to jacked up right now. Just waiting for the weather to break then I'll blow the cob webs out of it for a couple days then proceed to get wrenching.

Just don't do thisl lol

The guy in the dodge wrecked into actually a very rare VW. It was the rarest in the US or something crazy. Maybe 1 or 2 here or something. Total classic. I seen pics about 2-3 months or something prior of his ride. Really nice. Not for sure if he put it back together.

Yeh, no worries here about that. Wow, all sorts of stupid in that vid. WTF was that dodge owner thinking? I was waiting for my fiance in Wegmans parking lot last week and I could not believe the way some people drive in that parking lot, they drive like they are on the highway. I can't get over how stupid some people are like that.

And I'll try not to do this either.

That guy seriously did not know what happened in that dodge that he flipped, haha.

Lol I was just messin Rev. The guy in that wreck video is completely insane and just showing out. Apparently it was easy to talk him into this. I am not for sure what VW that guys was but I think it was half truck extended cab. Real low to.

People are out with their children in parking lots. I don't care if you don't respect your life, please respect mine. People just have no respect in cars man. I hate it. Just like i'm merging infront of this tractor trailer on the interstate, and this guy from ILL infront of me starts hitting his brakes with a tractor trailer behind me?

Seriously, If I had a truck combo, it would be yours Rev. My d21 would be bagged and slammed, no draggin frame, but tuckin 19-20, something I could actually ride on. Murdered out with a nice black bed cover. Heh heh

Well, I am honored and thank you for the compliments. I can't wait to be able to take it out of the garage for some better pics. Bags have their place, no arguing there, but I am not convinced they are stable enough to handle hard cornering, they strike me as more a city cruiser setup which isn't what I am doing. I live out in the mountains here in NY, we have nice winding roads in some spots. I am inspired by older roadsters, their purpose and handling and would like to achieve that idea with this truck, without chopping off the roof.

When you do lower yours, let me know if you feel like wheel hop through corners becomes an issue. IIRC, you have a sway bar and I'm wondering if that will improve or worsen the handling combined with a ~2inch drop. When I did mine, I noticed slightly less body roll in turns, slightly less diving under braking and much sharper weight shift under acceleration, but that darn wheel hop is seriously making me contemplate dumping some weight in the back just behind the rear wheels.

Your truck is looking better every time I see it, keep up the good work.

I just wanted to comment on my personal touches with your trucks. I would love to own both the D21 and Frontier, and the only thing I would change is extended cab on the D21. I do like bags, but it would be my choice only because I would enjoy the adjustability with the bags. Plus I am more of a street cruiser as opposed to what setup you are aiming for. Not much excitement on these roads. Other then dodging stupid drivers.

My personal truck that I would consider sporty would be a Subie Baja. This is another 'truck' I would enjoy putting some nice 19-20's on and coilovers and going a more handling, sport, street truck.

So in turn if I had all 3, the D21 would be my 'yo yo yo' lower rider murdered on bags, Baja would be the sporty mountain cruiser with boost and awd, can't go wrong.. And the frontier would be the 'oh jeez its snowin, gotta get lumber and groceries' truck.

I plan to pick up a truck sooner or later but it is hard to find something similar to the frontiers package you got there here in the south. I guess I should start looking north, hahah!
