Today I replaced all 4 shocks on my son's '96 base model. Wasn't too bad but the rear control arms don't give much space to get them in and out. Got it done though. Haven't had a chance to drive car yet.

I chose a KYB kit form Rockauto. It had the KYB Excel-G shocks with new mounts by KYB.
Part# KIT341151 for the rear and KIT341150 for the front.

I ordered lower ball joints too because i felt a lil play though the wheel but it turned out to be driver side upper control arm bushings. You can see the arm move slightly when trying to move it. Ended up ordering Whiteline upper control arm bushing kit for it off Amazon.

Will report back once installed.

So got the Whiteline upper control arm bushings installed today. Pretty easy job, definitely easier than bushings on my Xterra. Too car for a drive and son said it feels SO MUCH BETTER. he said it had actually gotten kind of sketchy at times. Rides so much better with the new shocks and of course handles better. Lean in turns is less too. Haven't driven a stock (new) Z32, a turbo model, since 1993 so I couldn't tell you how a Z32 is supposed to feel but son's car feels much better than before. Eventually we will go through everything under the car.

Well, son drove car 500 miles to grad school last weekend and all is well. He said it rides so much better than before, bumps don't jar his ribs anymore, and handles so much better.

note:his car has 93,000 or so miles and still had the factory shocks on it.
