So I just got new shift knob and it's one of the ones with the three small screws around the bottom. Well my problem is that every time I put it on 10 -15 minutes into my drive the screws get loose. I tried again but this time I screwed it in then used pliers to turn the Alan wrench even tighter but ten minutes into the drive again the screws came loose and one even fell off and I almost lost it. Do I need new motor and trans mounts? I can't figure out how to keep them on without them coming loose. Any help would be great.

lol no, you dont need new mounts. stop buying cheap as universal shift knobs get one made for a nissan so it will fit the orriginal thread. those allen wrench ones suck! AND THEY RUIN THE THREADS ON THE END OF THE SHIFTER.

I have to agree, I had one of those for like a year and no matter what I did it kept getting loose. shift knobs aren't too expensive though.

I recommend you get a new one thats threaded for your shifter, half the nico sponsors sell them.
