new sentra owner

picked it up Friday. 1992 Sentra XE, GA16DE, 4spd auto, AC, cruise, tilt, power mirrors, and a decent stereo for being stock. but the trans was flaky.









spent sunday morning dropping the trans pan and changing the filter and ATF. still have to finish filling it but i had to head to work so that was not an option. HOPEFULLY i can get it to move under its own power tomorrow (monday) morning. if so then we'll see how long the auto lasts and i can start sourcing out an SR and a 5spd swap. i REALLY would love an SR20VET but yeah right. i cant afford that on a pizza drivers wage.

oh i did clean it up friday night and saturday morning i looked it over.... 6 SMALL dents in teh whole car. 2 on the pass fender, one under the pass headlight, one on the drivers fender, one on the roof and one on the trunk. i will be vacing it out and cleaning it up more as well tomorrow.

anyone got a WORKING stock tape deck for one of these??? mine seems to not work real well.

trans is dead. its pissing ATF liek theres no tomorrow and 3rd gear is GONE! not happy but it gives me time to figure out what i can do with this thing. anyone got a 4spd auto, complete 5spd swap, or a complete SE-R swap they dont want or need for cheap????

Nice to see another B-13 put together like new as it will take some time. Can't wait for you too drop a SR20VVL or a SR20DET. Btw? How many miles do you have? Looks Good so far.

oh i was already a member of Nico as i have 2 Datsuns and had a Pathfinder. i have been looking at a SR20VE swap but finances right now are a little tight. might just start gathering parts as i go. i was also thinking about doing a low boost turbo on the GA16 and seeing how long it would last.

as for mileage, its got 223,000 on it and other than some massive oil leaks and the trans being toast, it runs great and hauls once it gets into 4th.

Yeah, seems that when a B-13 goes over 200,000+ miles It's starts to cough and choke. But the good thing about Nissan's they will still run and run just like the GA16DE.

yup. a glutton for punishment i am. 6 dodges and 8 dubs. 3 nissans and a couple others.

well the trans is dead. even with new seals 3rd is almost non existant and 4th is almost to that point. time for a new one. not fun.
