A couple of years ago my daughter bought a new remote from Nissan and they took her 96 240SX SE into the service area to activate (?) the remote. Now, she has dropped the remote and it is pretty beat up. I had a remote that used to work for the car (used to be mine), and now it doesn't work anymore. Do I need to change a code in the car to allow this one to work, or something? What should I do?

To program your car for a new remote:1. Slide the ignition key in and out rapidly (6 or 7 times) until all the dash warning lights come on.2. Turn the ignition on.3. Place the remote close to the instrument panel and push one of the buttons. Now your security system recognizes rhe new remote.
