Oh wow i saw that in the theaters before the previews started, it was intriguing seeing an xd comparable to the size of a lincoln navigator.

I saw the gheyness the other night on TV. I LOL'd. Reminds me of the kid Jesse from the fast and the furious, crossed with Cyrus from the movie "The Warriors".

It's like any other car community.... [for the most part] once you've seen one you've seen them all.

My dad and I were discussing this ad the other day (the ad played before Hellboy...which pissed me off enough as it was).

My thoughts:What the kid at the end has to say is B-horror bad. Maybe even worse.

However:At least Scion has something to do with their fanbase. As much as I hate Toyota, you can't fault them for that. Personal taste in cars is another matter.

When was the last time you saw NISSAN run an ad campaign featuring customer cars? Eh? When? When was the last time NISSAN acknowledged their fanbase like that?

+1 To Toyota for the "shoutout" to their fans. I think it's awesome that the ad is full of owner-modified cars.

I saw this when i saw a movie at the theater a few weeks ago..

I personally don't like all the riced out scions, but to each their own.. They could have made it better actually using FACTORY scions, not stuff you have to put money in to to look like that.

Why Would You Want A TC, When You Can Get A R32?

R32 = used

You know what Toyotas problem is? It wanted so badly to be liked by young people that it didn't stop to think that maybe one day all this Fast and the Furious stuff will get old, and at the end of the day you're still selling economy cars. If scion wants to survive they should be like the sports division of Toyota, bring back a new version of the Supra and Celica(or TC w/e) and an AE86 replacement. That would actually get me into one of their showrooms.

^ unfortunately, MG, authentic car nuts like the folk on these boards make up the vast minority when compared to the spoon-fed consumer public.

I must agree with you because after giving it some thought, the Scion TC is actually selling like hotcakes here in South Florida and guess who's buying them? FnF nerds, they basically all look like they do in that commercial and they all want to race you.

MG, I like how that sounds.

I was recently on the wall about getting an xB and pimping it out VIP'ish style as a DD to get my S14 off the road, that was until I heard the Cube was coming and then I said f*ck that. Not all Scion's are garbage, I love the one Ken Gushi will be driving this year for D1. It's a RWD converted beast with a boosted 3SGE.

what is the most embarrassing? drawing attention to yourself in Hellboy 2 or drawing attention to yourself as a Scion owner who is proud of the way you are portrayed in that commercial?

Seriously, though, probably 3/4 of those posts are people who work for Scion's web marketing department. Pretty much every big consumer goods company does it on some level.
