hello all, i recsently recieved a grounding from sentientbydesign for my HR. this was a great oppertunity to be a "test car" for this product. however he did have a kit for the HR G35's, but not for the Z. i told nate i would be more than willing to help out as needed, i.e. pic's, or measurements and anyother info. since both cars are close as far as grounding points, i was able to install the kit in a hour with out any big problems. i did find it alot easier to remove the passenger side intake for the install. this kit is beautiful! very, very nice. the instructions came with color pics and were very detailed. the install was done with just basic hand tools. after all is said and done, you might have to do some minor adjusting with the engine cover, but thats nothing to hard. i will post pics soon. ok so now i get to the test results .... all i can say is wow i was very impressed with what a few wires did. at first start up the idle was very smooth, like butter and driving was a blast. the throttle response was sharp. very noticeable improvement. now i am not sure about power gains, but this kit definitely put more pep in my Z's step. i havent noticed any mpg increase due to the fact that i install my fujita f5 intakes along with this kit and i'm still having my fun with it i would highly reccomend this to everyone. and for the price you can't beat it. a great buy.

p.s. sorry for bad spelling, just got off of work.

I don't doubt for a minute that with the extra grounding wires that different parts of the engine feel they are responding better, however, I do believe that any extra power you feel is a placebo affect. You might get a <1% gain, but I doubt you would feel it.

Also, you said you installed an intake at the same time, so again, the grounding kit may improve response, but not do anything HP wise. I like grounding kits, but their effect on HP is negligible, IMO of course.

In the end, glad it works for you.

well just to clear things up a little. i had the intakes on for about a week. when i installed the kit. like i said i noticed a better response from the throttle, no extra power. i do respect your opinion and input. i hope i cleared it up a little.

just looked up the product...wow...8 fricken wires. That's a bit over kill and at 4ga, that is unnecessary.

I like how SBD compared their kit to other kits. Sure, 4ga wire is good when dealing with high audio system demands, but for just extra grounding wires, not necessary.

In the end, I would have opted for the Stillen kit with the 8ga wire or better yet, buy bulk 8ga wire and build the kit myself. Shoot, I think even 10ga wire would work, be less visible and less bulky and still provide results only a multi-meter could see.

If you got a good price, great, but I think one can do better than the asking ~$110 if choosing to do a DIY kit.

opinions are like noses, everyone has one, and most people stick them where they are not wanted. i would like some more info on the grounding kit sbd sells. whether or not i buy his is my option. but for what its worth, i have owned a couple of cars with multiple computer systems that probably would have benifited from a better ground system. i also have researched stilen's and frankly feel it is a little lacking in the amount of points it has. from what i understand, the sbd kit has multi point options, and its my money. could i build my own kit?, sure, if i wanted to spend the time running all over n. alabama chasing the parts, which i dont want to, or have the time for, so it works out better for me to buy a pre-built kit. STILL WAITIN FOR SBD to chime in. i need and address or e-mail.

I bought it about a month ago and would say that my car feels like it drives better. Music is louder, car shifts and idles smoother, and feels more responsive. Personally I think it was worth the money and even if it is the placebo affect that is making me feel like everything improved. Nate was really helpful with everything and the shipping was quick. If you are considering doing this I would definately recommend buying from sentient.....just my .02

Thanks for supporting the fabricators

Hola peeps.

I've been busy with my newborn son. Haven't had much time to peruse the forums.

Power increases are going to be miniscule, HOWEVER, I personally feel that my G accelerates much harder with the kit on than without. Placebo? Not likely. There are too many positive reviews with the same feedback for it to be placebo.

My headlights heat up faster, audio sounds better, VDC isn't such a PITA, throttle response is crisper, and the 5at guys have even more benefits.

As for 4 gauge versus 8 or 10. Yeah, 4 is a little overkill for a COUPLE of the points, but the alternative was to have 4 and 8 mixed together which isn't for everyone.

One of my back burner projects is to access ->assess which points really need 4 gauge and which will be fine with 8 gauge. The customers will have to make the decision if the look is right for them.

As for pricing. I just setup a new agreement with a new supplier and prices will be lower when you contact me.

I've had a couple of people contact me to augment or replace their Stillen kits. I won't say any more than that...
